Subject: RE:bad news

Dear Yaron,

unfortunately the news are bad. The a/c with the registration 4XCWN

crashed last evening on the mountain of Kefalonia (LGKF). The other a/c

4XCWO landed earlier safely at LGAV, Athens airport.

the histoty is as following:

the 2 a/c departed IFR from LGKO destination LGKR. The CWO near Korinthos reported emergency and asked permission to return and land in Athens as he did. The other CWN decided to continue, and he managed to cross peloponissos with very bad weather condition. When he arrived in

Kefalonia, he understood was impossible to continue and returned and

landed at Zakinthos, LGZA. BUT after an hour, although he knew for the

weather, he decided to take off as VFR and do for half hour the flight to Kerkira. The departure was at 16.44Z and I guess they crashed after 7 minutes!

I would like to say my personal condolences and on behalf of AOPA Hellas. If is possible please tell me their names and remind me if i knew them and met in other fly in.

Also please pass my mobile +30 6944294800 to the other crew of CWO, or

tell me their names and contacts, in case they need any kind of support.

Best Regards

Yiouli Kalafati
